Looks like woes for ‘Padmavati’ doesn’t seem to end just yet. By Wednesday evening Sanjay Leela Bhansali was forced to release a video statement clarifying yet again that there is no scene what so ever between Deepika AKA Padmavati and Ranveer AKA Alauddin Khilji in the film that is set to release on 1st December. But looks like Shri Rajput Sabha, the supreme body of the Rajput community is yet not satisfied with this clarification and has gone ahead and sent out a letter to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. In the letter, a demand to ban the film all over India is stated and the Sabha has given the government time until 12th November to take a decision.
The letter signed by Giriraj Singh Lotawala, President, Shri Rajput Sabha has also sent out a copy to Mr Amit Shah and expressed their displeasure regarding Smriti Irani (I&B Minister) who is supporting the smooth release of the film. The letter also says, “Is this India or Pakistan? ” in reference to Pakistan’s glorification of those who commit the inhuman act. Time will tell the fate of the film but we just wonder why is it difficult for people to accept and trust the filmmakers and the actors even after a number of clarifications that have been released in the span of one year.
