Actress Deepika Padukone‘s one statement in support of her movie ‘Padmavati’ has landed the entire team in further trouble. Now, the members of Shri Rajput Karni Sena have called for a Bharat Bandh on December 1. Lokendra Singh Kalvi, founder-patron of the Shri Rajput Karni Sena says, “We will hold rallies across the country, including Gurugram, Patna, Lucknow and Bhopal before the release date.” He said that all communities including Muslims have been supporting the issue.
“We demand a complete ban on the film. Now, we don’t want any pre-screening of the movie. All we want is a ban,” he said. He claimed that according to the Cinematography Act, the Government can put a stay on the release of a movie for three months even after a go-ahead by the CBFC. Said Kalvi, “We request Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene in the matter.” (Also Read: Padmavati: Deepika Padukone’s ‘ghoomar’ act irks Chhattisgarh royal)
Clearly, the Sena members are in no mood to relent or bow down.
Written and directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, ‘Padmavati’, the movie stars Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor in lead roles.
