Yesterday, the makers of Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor-starrer ‘Padmavati’ screened the film to a certain section of media in order to get them review the film. The journalists did clarify that there is nothing in the film that can malign the image of Rajputs. It was a sort of a relief for the makers as there is a constant protest going on against the film. Even though this act of makers may have incurred good reviews from the critics, but the CBFC seems to be disappointed. (Also Read: Padmavati: It’s a film every Indian will be proud of, says Deepika)
We have learnt that the top officials at CBFC are not happy with this act of Bhansali as the film has not received a clean chit from the board. They argue that without certification, how can the film be screened to anyone. News agency ANI got in touch with the top officials at CBFC to get a clearance on this subject.
They have tweeted,

Further on IANS, there’s a report stating that the makers justified their stand of showing the film to media. Ajit Andhare, Chief Operating Officer, Viacom18 Motion Pictures had apparently tweeted, “What an irony, those who are supposed to watch are looking the other way and we have to run around and show it at other forums to ‘clear’ it.” He supposed to have deleted the tweet now. But an another tweet hinted at CBFC still remains.
