Recently, the makers of ‘Padmavati’ decided to show the film to a number of media houses, following which a detailed analysis was out on internet. It suggested that there were no scenes between Alauddin Khilji (Ranveer Singh) and Rani Padmavati (Deepika Padukone), as opposed to rumours. This miffed the CBFC to great extent and chief Prasoon Joshi repotedly stated it was unfair of Bhansali to screen it to journalists even before the board could watch it. Arjun Gupta, another CBFC member, slammed Bhansali on same grounds. “Bhansali has taken a lot of publicity for his film in this controversy. I’ve always said that he should show the movie to a group of historians first, but he did not. Instead, he showed the movie to some mediapersons, which is also a gimmick to earn publicity for his movie,” he told ANI.
