Padmavati: Twinkle Khanna’s sassy reply to protesters bowled us over

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus ‘Padmavati’ which features Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in lead roles has been riddled in various controversies from the beginning. If threats from the Rajput Karni Sena weren’t enough, some political leaders from BJP also threatened Bhansali and Deepika from showcasing the movie. Such is the magnitude of the dangerous threats that the star cast has tight security beefed up outside their houses. The CBFC saw the movie but returned it to the makers citing technical glitches as the reason.

So, amidst this all, our B-Town celebs have united together and lent their much-needed support to the team of ‘Padmavati’. Among them is actress-entrepreneur Twinkle Khanna. The lady who is also an author and rightly called Mrs Funnybones has now given a sassy response to the protesters. She has tweeted, “And as far as #Padmavati is concerned I wish it is the biggest hit ever as that would be the befitting rejoinder to all these loony threats!”

We completely agree with Twinkle on this and only hope that the film releases soon and emerges to become a superhit which will be a like a slow clap on the faces of those protesting. Also, not just Twinkle Khanna, but many others like Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Varun Dhawan, Sonam Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor have voiced their concerns over the issue.
