The ‘nepotism’ debate rekindled yet again post Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. Also, the existence of ‘movie mafia’ in both Bollywood and music industry has been exposed by many celebs like Kangana Ranaut, Shekhar Suman and Sonu Nigam to name a few.

Talking about nepotism, ‘Paisa Yeh Paisa’ singer Arpita Chakraborty said, “Nepotism agar hota na itna zyada jaisa ki log bol rahe hain, toh bohot sare star kids bhi aise hain jinko kaam nahi milta. There are lots of star kids who are either sitting at their homes or they are doing something else. Toh iska matlab ye ki nepotism sirf kaam nahi karta hain. Of course, music industry main ek tuning bolke cheez hoti hain. Jaise meri ek khud ki team hain aur mai agar agla music video banayungi, mai chahungi ki main ye same team ko repeat karu kyunki main inke kaam jan chuki hoon. Toh isko agar koi nepotism bole, toh it is strange.”

She continued, “Because mere khayal se talent hi sabse badi cheez hain aur jo public hain woh samajhti hain kaun talented hain kaun nahi hain aur jitna bhi nepotism hoh aur jo bhi hoh, ultimately aap kaisa kaam kar rahe hoh, public kitna pasand kar rahi aapke kaam ko, wahi matter karta hain.”

When we asked if her voice was also replaced, Arpita said it happened with her but she has no complaints or regrets about it. “Suppose maine koi gaana gaya hain aur ho sakta hain ki jo character hain uspe woh suit nahi kar raha hain. Yah phir ho sakta hai ki kisi producer ko koi aur singer chahiye, toh us time pe gaana replace ho jata hain. Lekin I have no regrets for that because I know mera future bohot bright hain aur gaane mil bhi rahe hain aur main gane bhi wali hoon. Toh I have no complaints or regrets about anything,” said the ‘Makhmali’ singer.
