EXCLUSIVE: Aap Akshay Kumar, Yami Gautam aur mere sensibility pe question kaise kar sakte ho: Pankaj Tripathi on fear of OMG 2 hurting religious sentiments

Akshay Kumar, Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi starrer is all set to release tomorrow i.e. 11^th August. For the past few weeks, OMG 2 has been making headlines for multiple reasons. OMG 2 is a sequel to OMG – Oh My God which released in 20212. The sequel is based on the topic of sex education and its lack of awareness in India. Akshay Kumar is playing Lord Shiva’s messenger. On the other hand, Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi play lawyer and Lord Shiva’s devotee respectively.

Ahead of the film’s release, Yami and Pankaj joined Bollywood Bubble’s latest edition of their hit show Reel Buddies. During the candid conversation, Pankaji opened up about the fear of OMG 2 hurting people’s sentiments.

Pankaj talks about OMG 2

Pankaj said, “Woh kya hai na internet ki daur mein yeh ek sandeh karne ki privalti badh gayi hai. Har aadmi ko pehle shanka hojata hai aur woh apna shanka rakh deta hai. Aap dekh lijiye, dekhne ke baad shanka rakh dijiye. Toh shanka ka niwaran dekhna ka parchat hi hoga ki iss box mein kya hai. Box khula hi nahi hai aur aap assume kar rahe hai aur baatein kar rahe hai uske baare mein. (You see, in the era of internet, the privelge of doubting has increased. Every person first has doubts and they keep their doubts open without any hesitation. You should observe, and after observing, keep the doubts. So, the process of resolving doubts will only happen when you see what’s inside the box. The box hasn’t even been opened and you’re assuming and taking about it).”

The actor added, “I know ek kahawat hai ki dhood ka jala chas bhi phook phook ke peeta hai. Toh previous koi box mein dhood mila hoga, humara chachni hai already. Kya lagta hai Ami Rai, Akshay (Kumar), Yami (Gautam) aur mein, humari sensibility pe prashna kaise paida ho sakta hai? Hum kisi kahaani se jud rahe hai toh of course hum 10 baar sochenge. (There’s a saying that once bitten twice shy. So, in previous box, they might’ve had an error but ours is not like that. What do you think, Amit Rai, Akshay (Kumar), Yami (Gautam) and I, how could a question arise about our sensibility? If we are connecting with a story, then of course, we will think ten times).”

He continued, “Aur hum sochne vicharne wale log hai kuch bhi aise nahi kar sakte hai. Toh koi baat nahi. Film release hogi toh samaj mein ayega ki aree yaar isme itni behas mudde ki kya jaroorat thi. (And we are thoughtful people, we can’t do anything like that. So, no worries. When the film is released, it will become clear to the society, whether there was a need to debate so much).”

Yami Gautam added, “The film talks about something very very important, very sensitive but bohot jaruri hai.” The actress went on to add that the film has not been made with an intention to hurt anyone.

During the candid conversation, Yami and Pankaj also spilled the beans on OMG 2’s clash with Gadar 2. OMG 2 and Gadar 2 are releasing on 11^th August.
