Rishi Kapoor was one of the legendary actors of Bollywood. He passed away in April 2020 leaving a huge void in the industry. Now, the nation will see him one last time in the movies as his last film Sharmaji Namkeen will be released on Amazon Prime. We sat down for an exclusive chat with the Sharmaji Namkeen team as they recalled the legend Rishi himself.

Paresh Rawal told Bollywood Bubble, “Rishi Ji had a way with talking where he would blast, like soda water he would subside as well. I don’t get angry that easily. I don’t get angry that easily. I give time to listen to the person. Of course, he was fond of drinking and even I like it a little but. With him, we would drink in a hurry. Kapoor sir would say, “Chaar peg take Chintu TV ko dekhta hai, chaar peg ke baad TV Chintu koo dekhta hai.”

He further recalled, “We have worked in two-three films together. On the first day when I reached NYC for the shoot. He started recommending restaurants to me. I said it is the first day let us discuss the scene. They had booked a room in the hotel, guarding the room was Chimpu Saab. In the room, there were juices and alcohol. So much hospitality, so much love. It was a lot of fun. He was a nice human being, there was a lot of calm.”

Further sharing his experience, Ritesh Sidhwani said, “You know there is a good bully and a bad bully, he was a good bully. He was with only heart. He did Luck By Chance with us and I remember it was Zoya’s first film. The first AD gave him the call sheet and it was written reporting time to home. Mr Rishi Kapoor’s reporting time was 9 am, so he did not say anything. So the AD said Zoya mam wants you reporting at 8:30 for blocking and you will report on set at 9 am. He said, tell your director my milkman comes at 9 am, I will have my tea and come on set at 11 am.”
