Is Parineeti Chopra-Diljit Dosanjh starrer ‘Chameli Ki Shaadi’ put on hold?

It was good to hear that Basu Chatterjee’s 1986 film ‘Chameli Ki Shaadi’ was going to be remade by Rohit Jugraj. What further evoked our curiosity was when the makers announced to have roped in Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra as the lead pair. An interesting combination, isn’t it?

However, if reports are to be believed, then the film has been put on hold for now.

Reportedly, the budget turned out to be huger than what the makers had earlier anticipated. Now, the team needs to time to sort it out. Also, a number of production issues including minor changes in the script also cropped up.

The old film starred Anil Kapoor and Amrita Singh in lead roles and was a strong commercial success. To match it up to the viewers’ expectation won’t be an easy task.  But let’s just hope for the best!

Parineeti now awaits the release of ‘Meri Pyaari Bindu’ opposite Ayushmann Khurrana while Diljit will be next seen in ‘Philauri’ along with Anushka Sharma.
