Parineeti Chopra to romance this newcomer in ‘Chameli ki Shaadi’ remake?

Do you remember the 1986 hit movie ‘Chameli Ki Shaadi‘? Even if you don’t, fret not, as Phantom Films has bought the rights of the Anil Kapoor and Amrita Singh starrer, and it might soon be in the cinema halls near you.

The recent reports suggest that Rohit Jugraj will be directing the remake, while the makers are keen on roping in Parineeti Chopra for the title role. For Anil Kapoor’s character, they want to cast Diljit Dosanjh, who recently made his Bollywood debut with Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Udta Punjab’

One rumour also suggested that Shah Rukh Khan was interested in buying the rights of ‘Chameli Ki Shaadi’, but sadly, nothing worked out.

Whatever might be the case, but we are sure keen on watching the remake of this classic, and would love to watch this unconventional pairing on screen.
