Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Pataakha’ lives up to its name in the first half, and is a total firecracker of an experience. Sanya Malhotra and Radhika Madan are two sisters (Badki and Chutki) who have violent fights over various trivial things. They are usually silenced by their father, played by Vijay Raaz.

Unfortunately, Vijay Raaz needs Rs. 4 Lakh and the only option for him to get that money is to get one of his daughters married to Patel (who looks like a local goon). The acting is superb, and you really get a feel of a village.

Even though the circumstances of its characters are tragic, ‘Pataakha’ is a laugh riot. The plot moves a little slowly, but the witty dialogues ensure that the film doesn’t feel long. An entertaining second half is set up as there is a very nice twist just before the interval.

Will the second half live up to everyone’s expectations? To know the answer stay tuned for the entire movie review.
