Days after accusing Anurag Kashyap of sexual misconduct, actress Payal Ghosh will finally file a police complaint against the filmmaker today. Interestingly, last night Payal’s lawyer Nitin Satpute had arrived at Oshiwara Police station along with the actress however due to absence of female officer they couldn’t file the FIR.

According to Payal’s claim, Kashyap had stripped off in front of her and tried to molest her back in 2014. Last night while addressing the media before filing the case, Payal’s lawyer said that she had shared about the incident previously too. He further said that sexual misconduct is a cognisable offence and can lead up to three years in jail. The case can be filed under 354 and 509 section of Indian Penal Code. He even stated that all the evidence including the WhatsApp chats will now be submitted to the police.

However, owing to the absence of a female officer, the FIR could not be filed last night. According to a report by India TV, the actress’ lawyer in a statement said that the FIR could not be filed as there was no female officer present and Payal was not comfortable sharing the entire incident with a male officer. The actress will now be filing the case against the filmmaker on Tuesday i.e today. The lawyer further said that they will also file a case under NCW.
