Payal Ghosh: Imagine you have to see a man without his clothes just because you went to him for work

Payal Ghosh’s tweet on Anurag Kashyap where she accused him of sexual assault grabbed the headlines. According to Payal a few years back, she was called by Anurag to his home to discuss work. But according to Payal, he tried to ‘force himself into her’. She shared the details of her ordeal in most of her interviews. Later, she filed an FIR against Kashyap.

We recently had an interaction with Payal where she said that she is happy that people are supporting her. She said, “If I get justice, it will be an example for so many women in the country that they will have the courage to come out to talk about it. They shouldn’t be scared of the way I was being scared. They shouldn’t be suppressed by their families thinking that the reputation of their families will be spoilt. So, people should come out and talk.”

Payal added, “It has haunted me for years and I felt so bad I can’t even tell you in words. Imagine you have to see a man without his clothes just because you went to him for work. Put into your shoes and see what was my mental state from that time till today.”

She further said, “What made me extremely angry was that he would come and talk about women liberation, empowerment, smash the patriarchy and all that. He became so good in front of people.”
