PETA to honour Sunny Leone with ‘Person of the Year’ award

She was previously in the race for PETA’s ‘Hottest Vegetarian of the Year’ award. However, Shahid Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor bagged the crown together. Now, as a recognition to her compassion towards animals, People for the Ethical Treatments of Animals (PETA) will honour Sunny Leone with ‘Person of the Year’ award.

“Sunny Leone’s kindness proves she is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. PETA is calling on people everywhere to follow her compassionate example by adopting– and never buying–companion animals, and by eating healthy, plant-based meals that save animals every time we sit down to eat,” Sachin Bangera from PETA said.

Sunny is known to be campaigning to encourage people to adopt homeless dogs and give them a shelter. She also opposes products made out of animal skins.

Earlier, eminent personalities like Dr. Shashi Tharur, R Madhavan and Hema Malini have received the same award.
