Picture alert! Ankita Lokhande leaks her look from the sets of ‘Manikarnika’

‘Manikarnika’ starring Kangana Ranaut is one period drama that looks promising after ‘Padmavati’. The film narrates the heroic journey of Queen Lakshmibai with Kangana playing the central character. Apart from her, another performance that we are looking forward to is this film is of television actress Ankita Lokhande.

Ankita’s Bollywood debut is being anticipated for a very long time but the actress could only make it to the news because of her breakup with Sushant Singh Rajput. Thought a lot of rumours of her featuring in ‘Padmavati’ had made it to the headlines, but she could only sign the dotted lines for ‘Manikarnika’. The shooting has begun and we have her very first picture from the sets of the film.

Ankita essays the role of Jhalkaribai who was touted to be Rani Lakshmibai’s right hand. She held the position of adviser in Queen’s army. She was married to Puran Singh who was also a part of Queen’s army. A Maharashtrian style saree, a bun and image of a fort in the backdrop, Ankita’s photo surely transports us to 1857.

‘Manikarnika’ is being directed by Tamil director named Krish. His last famous Bollywood outing was ‘Gabbar Is Back’ that starred Akshay Kumar in the lead.
