‘Pink’ remake: Boney Kapoor casts Tamil actor Ajith and fulfils Sridevi’s wish

After crossing many hurdles in their life, Sridevi and Boney Kapoor came together and lived happily ever after. The couple was an epitome of true love and there is no denying to this fact. However, in an unfortunate incident last year, Sridevi passed away and the family was inconsolable as the incident turned out to be the biggest shock of their lives. On various occasion, Boney Kapoor was seen teary-eyed whenever asked about his late wife. Moving on with the life, filmmaker and producer Boney Kapoor has decided to fulfil the dreams of Sridevi.

Making one of the dreams of Sridevi come true, Boney Kapoor is all set to make the remake of the Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu starrer ‘Pink’ in Tamil. The film will feature Thala Ajith and Vidya Balan in lead roles. It is to be noted that while Ajith will play the role of Amitabh Bachchan in the film, Vidya will work in a Tamil film for the first time.

In an interview to DNA, the 63-year-old filmmaker and producer revealed that it was Sridevi’s desire that they do a film with Ajith in Tamil. “While looking for options we watched Pink and that is when we thought about it. And when we met him in Chennai, even Ajith said that he had seen it. Then, Sri suggested that we remake the social drama and he, too, jumped at the idea,” he added.

It is to be noted that legendary actress Sridevi started her career with a Tamil film called ‘Kandhan Karunai’ in 1967.
