PM Narendra Modi tweets to Hrithik, calls his father Rakesh Roshan a fighter

After actors like Irrfan Khan, Sonali Bendre and others we now have reputed actor and filmmaker Rakesh Roshan being diagnosed with cancer. The shattering news was shared by his actor son Hrithik Roshan on his social media handle today. Rakesh Roshan was diagnosed with “squamous cell carcinoma of the throat”, revealed Hrithik in his post as he shared a picture of himself with his father.

No sooner did Hrithik share the news that fans and friends filled his feed with speedy recovery messages for his father. But one message that stood out was from none other than the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The PM tweeted,

Veteran filmmaker and actor Rakesh Roshan is suffering from the first stage of throat cancer. He underwent a surgery for the same today.

Hrithik Roshan thanked the PM and tweeted that his father’s surgery has gone well,

Rakesh Roshan is known for his movies like ‘Khoobsurat’, ‘Kaamchor’and many more. He went on to direct his first film ‘Khudgarz’ that worked well at the box office, since then he has directed ‘Khoon Bhari Maang’, ‘Karan Arjun’ and others. Rakesh launched his son Hrithik in ‘Kaho Naa….Pyar Hai’ and later directed him in ‘Krrish’ series.

Not many know but Hrithik’s sister Sunaina Roshan beat cervical cancer in 2014.

We wish Roshan senior a speedy recovery.
