‘PM Narendra Modi’ was supposed to release today but the Election Commission of India has put a ban on its release stating that the movie might influence the voters. The movie has landed into controversies ever since its announcement as the opposition parties have called it a ‘propaganda’ film. It has been targeted by them and they had appealed to the Election Commission of India to stall the release.
As reported by India Today, producer Sandip Ssingh told an entertainment portal that the movie would not influence the voters. He questioned, “If that is the case, then why can’t all the parties stop all the campaigning and just make films and influence the voters?”
He further said, “It’s very simple. It’s a producer’s job. I liked one story. When I liked the story of ‘Aligarh’, nobody questioned. When I liked the story of ‘Mary Kom’, nobody questioned. When I like ‘Sarbjit’s story, nobody questioned. So then why are they grilling on this film? Why are they scared? Why aren’t they confident about the work they have done for the country and their respective states? They should worry about that, not about the film.”
The release date has been postponed many times and finally, when it was about to release on April 11, it is stalled. Directed by Omung Kumar, the movie has Vivek Oberoi in the lead role of Modi.
Now, we have to wait for the movie to get a new release date.
