poonam pandey,

Model and actor Poonam Pandey falsely announced her death on 2nd February in an attempt to raise awareness about cervical cancer. This staged death claim, initially framed as a tactic to generate awareness about the disease caught a lot of attention but also instead triggered a storm of criticism after she confirmed being alive by sharing a video. After celebrities, doctors, politicians, and other personalities condemned her nasty act, Maharashtra legislator Satyajeet Tambe demanded that the Mumbai Police take action against the death hoax.

Tambe, an independent member of the Maharashtra Legislative Council, said a case should be registered against Poonam Pandey. Slamming the Lock Upp contestant, he said that action should be taken against her as she “made or published false or misleading information”. He further added, “The news of an influencer/model dying of cervical cancer cannot be a means to spread awareness about the disease. The entire episode takes away the serious nature of cervical cancer and diverts the attention entirely to the influencer.” He added that the actor “pulled a prank on cancer survivors” rather than raising awareness.

About Poonam Pandey’s fake death incident

Poonam Pandey has become the talk of the town but for all the wrong reasons. After her team revealed that she died of cervical cancer, Poonam shared a video announcing, ‘I’m alive.’ Soon after she faked her death, Poonam revealed that it was creating awareness for the cancer. However, this didn’t go down well with the people and several celebs like Aly Goni, Rakhi Sawant, Shardul Pandit, Ridhi Dogra and many slammed for mocking death.

Apart from Maharashtra lawmaker, All Indian Cine Workers Association has demanded an FIR against Poonam Pandey stating that her actions were “highly wrong” and “unacceptable”.
