As we reported earlier, actor Rahul Bose who will be making his directorial comeback with ‘Poorna‘, a true story, had plans to unveil the first look of the film on Mount Kilimanjaro. A unique strategy to make everyone aware of the plot of this movie, Rahul took the help of none other than Malavath Poorna, on whose life the movie is based. On August 15, the eve of Independence Day, Poorna who had begun her ascent on August 10 on Mount Kilimanjaro, had carried two waterproof posters of the film. She achieved the feat and launched it on Monday evening.
Talking about this victorious yet unique strategy, Rahul Bose said, “We got the idea when I heard Poorna was going to climb Mount Kilimanjaro and summit on August 15. We thought, what better place than the top of one of the world’s most famous mountains to unveil the first look of a film about the world’s most famous mountain and the tribal girl who conquers it.”
Looking at the favourable response received by this idea, Rahul further added saying, “Everybody I’ve spoken to has said it was the perfect way to launch the first look poster of ‘Poorna’. They were also fairly blown away by the originality of the idea. If you ask me, I would say it was a mixture of luck and creative thinking by the team.”
