Prabhas admits he was terrified to play Lord Ram in Adipurush, reveals the qualities he would like to imbibe from his character

The teaser of Prabhas starrer highly-anticipated film Adipurush was released on Sunday. The Adipurush team unveiled the teaser in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. Prabhas as Lord Ram looks impressive. The teaser also gives a glimpse of Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh, Kriti Sanon as Sita, Sunny Singh as Lakshman, and Devdatta Nage as Hanuman.

At the teaser launch of the film in Ayodhya, Prabhas admitted that he was terrified to play the role of Lord Ram. The actor said, “I was really frightened to portray this character. After three days of the fear, I called Om (Raut). We made the film with lots of love and respect. Now, we need Lord Rama’s blessings. Jai Shree Ram.”

When asked about the qualities he would like to imbibe from his character, Prabhas said, “Dedication, loyalty, and discipline.”

Apart from the teaser, Aidpurush makers also dropped a new poster of Prabhas as Lord Ram. Prabhas also shared the poster on his Instagram and wrote, “आ रहा हूँ, अधर्म का विध्वंस करने. Step into the world of Adipurush #AdipurushInAyodhya. #Adipurush releases in THEATRES on January 12, 2023 in IMAX & 3D!” The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar of T-Series, Prasad Sutar and Rajesh Nair of Retrophiles. Reportedly, Adipurush is made on a budget of Rs 500 crore.

Earlier, talking about the film, Prabhas said in a statement, “Every role and every character comes with its own challenges, but portraying a character like this comes with tremendous responsibility and pride. I am very excited to portray this character of our epic, especially the way Om has designed it. I am sure the youth of our country will shower all their love on our film.”
