Prabhas and Deepika Padukone starrer Project K to be the first Indian film to debut at San Diego Comic-Con

Prabhas and Deepika Padukone starrer Project K is one of the most ambitious films up for release in the coming year. The film has already created quite a buzz with its casting and concept. Now, it has added yet another reason to be excited as it will debut at San Diego Comic-Con 2023.

Prabhas starrer Project K to debut at San Diego Comic-Con

The Nag Ashwin directorial has become the first Indian film to achieve this feat. On Thursday night, the production house Vyjayanthi Movies took to Twitter to make the official announcement. They shared a new poster saying ‘Project K at Comic Con’, with the caption, “Proud moment! San Diego @Comic_Con, here we come.”

Project K has an envious ensemble in its cast. Led by superstars Prabhas and Deepika, it also stars legends Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan, and a fresh face like Disha Patani. The film is a sci-fi thriller set in a dystopian world and inspired by mythology. Nag Ashwin’s vision for the film has already made it a must watch.

Project K at Comic-Con

The San Diego Comic-Con will take place from July 20-July 23. Prashanth, Prabhas, Deepika and Kamal Haasan will be present at the event. They will unveil the film’s title, trailer, release date and as per a report in Variety, also some exclusive footage from the film.

Fans will get a first look of the film at the opening night party on July 19. Whereas the whole team will be a part of a panel titled This is Project K: First Glimpse of India’s Mytho-Sci-fi Epic, on July 20. The actors are also expected to put up a performance at the event.

Amitabh Bachchan reacts to the news

An ecstatic Big B took to his social media to commemorate the achievement. He shared how special this feat is for him. He wrote, “T 4697 – … a proud moment for me .. I never realised how important and BIG this is .. Now I know .. my wishes to Vyjayanthi Movies , Nag Sir and the entire unit for the affection they have given me , and to make me a part of this incredible experience.”

Deepika, Prabhas’ reactions

Deepika also shared the new poster on Instagram and wrote, “Proud to be a part of the first ever Indian Movie to go to Comic-Con.See you there!” Prabhas also had similar excitement as he wrote, “Can’t express my excitement for this, see you at @comic_con, San Diego. #ProjectK.” Project K has a theatrical release date next year of January 12, 2024.
