Rumours abound that Sanjay Dutt will be making his 60th birthday all the more special by unveiling the teaser of his home production ‘Prasthanam’. Dutt will turn 60 on July 29 and reportedly that’s when he will be either launching the first look or unveil the teaser of ‘Prasthanam’. However, the latest development suggests that there might be a change in plans.

Sanjay Dutt and wife Maanayata Dutt have been sent a legal notice by Shemaroo. According to a report in SpotBoyE, the legal notice states that neither director Deva Katta nor Sanjay can make the film since Shemaroo owns ‘Prasthanam’s rights. Sanjay has been asked to reply to the notice within 72 hours.

Talking about the notice, Ketan Maroo, head honcho of Shemaroo, told SpotboyE, “Yes, we have sent the legal notice. We obviously will demand a certain amount. The rights of ‘Prasthanam’ belong to us and we had brought them from Gemini. We have no intentions of creating a needless issue. We are ready to sit across the table and resolve the issue.”

Directed by Deva Katta, Telugu film ‘Prasthanam’ released in 2010. Now he is helming the Hindi remake as well. It was only recently when Sanjay had announced the release date of ‘Prasthanam’.

Produced by Maanayata, the Hindi remake is scheduled to hit the silver screens on September 20, 2019. But now that Shemaroo has sent a legal notice to the makers of Hindi remake, it has to be seen if they are able to make an amicable decision.
