Actor Prateik Babbar’s new play, ‘Six’ in which he essays a gay character for the first time, has been well appreciated by people, especially by the LGBT community. The play based on ‘A Midnight Clear’ by LB Hamilton revolves around two former gay lovers. The LGBT community has admired Prateik for pulling off the role with great aplomb!
Prateik says, “I know it’s a bold choice but I wanted to portray this part. For me, it is about improving myself as an artiste.”
“Theatre is a different ball game. I feel this is a new journey for me as an actor, since on stage you only have one chance to get it right in front of the audience. There are no retakes,” he explains.
He also shared his experience of working on the play and said, “I have been attending an acting course over the last nine months to understand the intricacies of the craft. It is my duty as an artiste to learn and explore more.”
