Prateik Babbar opens up about losing Bhaag Milkha Bhaag to Farhan Akhtar, says ‘I am still disappointed’

Veteran actor Raj Babbar’s son Prateik Babbar has been a part of some of the most famous movies including Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, Chhichhore and many more. Prateik has previously hustled as a production assistant and had landed himself in the movies. Though he has starred in some of the famous movies, he has also lost another gem of a movie, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.

Prateik Babbar lost Bhaag Milkha Bhaag to Farhan Akhtar

The Chhichhore actor got into a conversation with Times Of India, Prateik Babbar revealed that he was supposed to headline the Farhan Akhtar starrer Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. Prateik revealed that he was ‘locked’ to play the role. Prateik said, “I remember Ranveer Singh walked out of the audition room, and I walked in. They just stopped the audition as they found what they were looking for.” He added that his reading session with screenwriter Prasoon Joshi had begun and director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra also came to visit him during the Aarakshan shoot.

Further, he added, “When it came to locking the commercials, my then-manager told me they would handle it. I was 23 years old, I didn’t know what to talk about money. But my agency ghosted them. Three weeks later I found out that Farhan Akhtar was doing it. I am still disappointed.”

Prateik on his films getting shelved

Speaking in the same interview, Prateik Babbar said, “When I slipped back to self-destruction the films were getting shelved as I was too drugged up to say my dialogues or show up on set. Then I had a slump in my career. Everything was just so fast, I didn’t understand. It was overwhelming for me. Everything, the politics, the vices, and then I crashed, everything came crumbling down.”

The actor divulged and said that he was tricked by his family in his rehabilitation centre at the age of 18. Prateik expressed that the particular stage was a difficult one for him.
