Prateik Babbar, son of Raj Babbar and Smita Patil, has been missing from the limelight for a long time now. For those uninitiated, Prateik was down with heavy drug addiction but is recovering well these days.
The actor had made a successful debut with Genelia D’Souza and Imran Khan’s ‘Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na’ and went on to star in Kiran Rao’s critically acclaimed film ‘Dhobi Ghat’. However, rest of films including ‘Ek Haseena Thi’ and ‘Umrika’ didn’t work out at the box office.
As his fans and admirers wondered what was he up to, he was fighting an uphill battle with drugs on personal front. Recently while conversing with a news agency, he opened up on the same. (Also Read: Prateik Babbar’s next to be a sci-fi film)
“There was a part of my life that people didn’t know about. All these years, people, fans and admirers saw me in a certain way as a good actor, a happy guy. But that wasn’t the case. I wasn’t happy, I wasn’t being good to myself. I was a heavy addict. It was a huge problem,” he said.
Showbiz is a strange world indeed. People hide their sorrows and struggles behind the glittery lights.
We wish you get back to your best, Prateik!
