Prateik Babbar’s wife Priya Banerjee breaks silence on NOT inviting Raj Babbar & family to their wedding; says, “Everyone who mattered…”

Actors Priya Banerjee and Prateik Babbar, who now go by the name of Prateik Smita Patil, got married in an intimate ceremony on Valentine’s Day. The couple got married in an intimate wedding ceremony held at Prateik’s late mother Smita Patil’s house in Bandra, Mumbai. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, the wedding was a heartfelt celebration of love, culture, and togetherness.

Priya Banerjee opens up about not inviting Raj Babbar & family to their wedding

Priya Banerjee talked about her wedding with Prateik Babbar and stated that it was nothing different as the two have been together for five years. Speaking about her big day to Hindustan Times, she shared, “Our wedding day turned out to be exactly as we dreamt of and imagined. It was intimate and special and with the people we love the most all under one roof. It was more special as we got married at Rock Cliff, which is Prateik’s mom’s house. She bought for him so she could live with him and raise him there but unfortunately, she could not do that. And we believe that it was her gift to us that she wanted us to get married in that house and so we did.”

Prateik Babbar and Priya Banerjee sparked rumours regarding the absence of Prateik’s father, Raj Babbar, and his half-siblings, Aarya and Juhi Babbar. All significant family members were present, Priya explained.

She said, “There was absolutely no family member who was missing from the wedding or our celebrations. I don’t know why there are rumours that “family members” were absent. Our families were there including my parents, his aunts who raised him, his nana-nani and everyone who mattered and is family was with us. And there was absolutely nobody who is family was missing.”

The newlywed couple also shared dreamy pictures from the traditional wedding ceremony, which gave fans the couple’s goals.

Prateik Babbar was previously married to writer and filmmaker Sanya Sagar. The couple tied the knot in January 2019 after dating for several years. However, their marriage faced difficulties, and they reportedly separated in 2020 before eventually parting ways.

Prateik later found love again with actress Priya Banerjee. Their love story blossomed over time, built on friendship and shared passions. The couple kept their relationship private before making it official in 2023.
