Preity Zinta was truly a diva during 90s and early 2000 as she starred in a number of romantic dramas that are considered classics even today. While she maybe on a break from movies, she continues to grab headlines for personal life. The actress got married to Gene Goodenough and welcomed Jai and Gia via surrogacy. In a recent interview, Preity Zinta opens upon going through IVF and the emotional turmoil she faced.
Preity Zinta on facing tough times during IVF
Speaking to Vogue, Preity reflected on the challenges she faced during this period. She says, “I have good days and bad days just like everyone else. Sometimes it’s a struggle to always be happy-go-lucky in real life, especially when you’re going through a tough phase. I used to feel like that during my IVF cycles. It was very difficult to be smiley and nice all the time. Sometimes I just wanted to bang my head on the wall and cry or not talk to anybody. So yes, it has to be a balancing act for all actors.”
Talking about the trend of social media, she explained, “I prefer to keep it real because that’s who I am. Most of the stuff (not all) I put on social media is usually shot and edited by me, and sometimes you’ll see my head is cut off or my leg is cut off in certain frames, but I’m okay with that”.
Preity on her comeback
The actress is all set to make her comeback with Lahore 1947 alongside Sunny Deol. She asserts, “It’s important to focus on career, but being a woman, one also needs to realise that life is not completely fair and there is no level playing ground as the biological clock is real. People forget that for women, as actors, your craft is important, you want a body of work, but family is equally important. Now that my kids are over two years old, I felt I was ready to get back to work.”
For those unversed, Preity Zinta 2004 hit film ‘Veer-Zaara’ will re-release in the theatres on September 13. Directed by Yash Chopra, the film also featured Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role.
