Pritam not happy with his Dola Re Dola version in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani – here’s why

Karan Johar directorial Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani released on 28 July. The film has already crossed Rs.70 crores at the box office. Starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in lead roles, the film has already emerged as a hit. Not just this, it is also receiving rave reviews and a positive word of mouth. As Ranveer and Alia have delivered stunning performances, RRKPK has also given us an amazingly hit soundtrack.

With songs like What Jhumka, Ve Kamleya, Tum Kya Mile, Dhindhora Baje Re and Kudmayi, all songs are ruling hearts and how! Speaking of which, Pritam has opened about creating and composing songs for the Karan Johar directorial.

Pritam expresses his thoughts about recreating Dola Re Dola in RRKPK

In an interview with Hindustan Times, the composer has opened up about recreating Dola Re Dola which turned out to be an attention grabber of all! Speaking about this, Pritam said that he did not do a good job in the contribution for the song and all the magic was created by Ranveer Singh, Tota Roy Chowdhary and Jaya Bachchan. Pritam also said that the original Dola Re Dola is much better. Quoting Hindustan Times, Pritam said, “I honestly think I didn’t do a good job of it. It’s the same beats, but just with two male singers. The real contribution to that song is by Ranveer Singh and Tota Roy Chowdhury. And by Jaya Bachchan, who gives those reaction shots. My contribution is zero, negative actually. The original Dola Re Dola is far better.”

Well, the film’s soundtrack also consists of vintage gems including Abhi Naa Jao Chhod Kar, Aaja Meri Gaadi Me Baith Jaa and Aap Jaisa Koi among others. As these songs are imbibed perfectly into the film, Pritam has also mentioned that the songs are used as a matter to pay homage to the legendary music directors.
