‘Sridevi Bungalow’: Priya Prakash Varrier opens up on whether her film is based on late Sridevi’s life

World Wide Web is a very amusing place. Here you can rise to fame with just one viral video and it was the same case for Priya Prakash Varrier who is popularly known as the ‘wink girl’. Her wink made the men go gaga over her and overnight, she became an internet sensation. And as expected, Priya is now all set to mark her Bollywood debut with ‘Sridevi Bungalow’.

The teaser of ‘Sridevi Bungalow’ was unveiled yesterday and it has raised quite eyebrows due to its starking resemblance to the life of late veteran actress Sridevi. Apart from having the actress’ name in the title of the film itself, the teaser showcased Priya playing a superstar who is otherwise very happy with her star status and luxurious life. However, one unfortunate incident changes everything.

By the end of the teaser, we even see Priya perhaps lying dead in a bathtub. Now, this has a striking resemblance to all the stories that surrounded the death of the ‘Mr.India’ actress. At the trailer launch of the film, when Priya was asked if her film is based on Sridevi’s life, she very diplomatically replied that people can perceive it the way they want it.

“You have to watch the film and decide if its a story related to her or not. I will be playing the role of lady superstar named Sridevi in the film,” said Priya while interacting with the media.

Written and directed by Malayalam filmmaker Prasanth Mambully, ‘Sridevi Bungalow‘ also stars Priyanshu Chatterjee. The release date of the film is yet to be announced.
