Priyanka Chopra is currently basking in all the glory and success of her recently released memoir Unfinished. In the book, she has spoken about favouritism in Bollywood. Also, in an interview with Lilly Singh on her television show A Little Late with Lilly Singh, she opened up on facing favouritism in the industry when asked about it. PeeCee said, “Yeah, actually, I have written about it in my book quite a bit… But I think for people who have a large table, wouldn’t it be better if we just start extending the table instead of just monopolising it?”
The nepotism debate started ever since Kangana Ranaut openly spoke about it on Karan Johar’s show Koffee With Karan and he was labelled as ‘movie mafia’ of Bollywood. The most controversial topics-favouritism and nepotism have been the topic of discussions since then. Sushant Singh Rajput’s death in 2020 yet again sparked the debate and star kids were called out on social media. Also, many producers were slammed for giving chance to only star kids and not the newcomers. Priyanka said, “The terrible thing about favouritism is… It’s okay, everyone wants to take care of their families, right? We all want to take care of our friends and families, create opportunities. I want to do it.”
In her book Unfinished, Priyanka has revealed many interesting facts about her personal and professional lives. It chronicles her childhood, facing racism during her teenage years in the US, winning the titles-Miss India and Miss World, and the challenges she faced while making a career in Bollywood and Hollywood. Unfinished becomes the best seller in India, US and the UK.
