Currently filming the second season of Citadel in London, Priyanka Chopra made a special effort to pause her busy schedule to celebrate Dhanteras with her daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas.

On Tuesday evening, Priyanka Chopra took to her Instagram Stories to post a picture of Malti Marie proudly showing off her colourful bangles as they celebrated Dhanteras. In her Instagram story, Priyanka wished her followers a Happy Dhanteras, posting a heartwarming image of herself playfully tugging on Nick Jonas’ fingers while Malti joined in their prayers, her little wrist adorned with vibrant bangles. She captioned the moment, “Happy Dhanteras to all celebrating!”

This isn’t the first time Priyanka has combined her Indian heritage with her life abroad. Just a week earlier, she celebrated Karwa Chauth, a festival that Hindu women observe for the longevity of their husbands. Priyanka shared a series of photos showcasing her fasting for Nick and performing the rituals. In the images, she is seen breaking her fast with Nick’s help as he offers her water, a customary part of the tradition. Another photo from her Karwa Chauth post features Priyanka fondly reading a note from Nick. Her mother, Madhu Chopra, participates in the celebrations via video call.

It appears that little Malti is also picking up some Hindi. In a prior post, fans could hear her attempting to speak the language with help from her dad, Nick. Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas wed in 2018, and their daughter, Malti Marie, was born via surrogacy in January 2022.

Earlier this month, Priyanka visited India to promote her brand, Max Factor. In an interview with Forbes India, she expressed her longing for the singing and dancing typically found in Bollywood films. Although she was set to appear in Jee Le Zaraa alongside Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif, there have been no recent updates regarding the film’s production.

Recently, Priyanka Chopra also returned to India for her film Paani. It received the National Film Award for Best Film on Environment Conservation. On the work front, Priyanka is all set to star in upcoming projects, Heads of State alongside Idris Elba and John Cena, and a role as a 19th-century Caribbean pirate in The Bluff. She also has Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zaraa alongside Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt in her pipeline.
