Priyanka Chopra has conquered the world of West, but still she hasn’t forgotten her roots. She is connected to the world of Bollywood as much as she was before. But that does not mean that she likes stereotyping Indian cinema in front of the world. At a recent interaction, PeeCee said that she does not like the word ‘Bollywood’ as the Indian film industry is not that small to be named.
She said, “I don’t like the word, because we’re not a miniature Hollywood. We are the Indian film industry, one of the most prolific producers in the world… It’s a ginormous business.” True that! Indian cinema is a world of creative people and Priyanka thinks that by naming it as ‘Bollywood’, it diminishes the field’s true and unique creative skills. She further stated, “We are artists, people who know our jobs. You can put me in front of a camera anywhere in the world and I’ll hit my mark and say my lines and give the director what he wants. I can break out into song and dance as well. I’m kickass at that too. That makes me a triple threat, not a stereotype.”
Point noted!
On the work front, Priyanka had recently stated that she is reading 16 scripts and would soon give a nod to the script she likes.
