Versatile actress Priyanka Chopra laments that till date no woman centric film has been made to the 100 crore club and to be commercially viable in Bollywood you have to be a part of 100 crore club.
As per sources, PeeCee said, “I always try to do films which I find interesting. But we also have to be have to be part of the 100 or 200 crore films to be commercially viable so that we can go and do women oriented films as no female centric films has yet made 100 crore at the box office. Although Vidya’s (Balan) films have done very well. Even my films Fashion, Saat Khoon Maaf took great openings. That is a positive sign.”
At present she is shooting for her biopic Mary Kom based on the life of five-time World Boxing champion Mary Kom and she also said that, “Film industry is meant for entertainment just like music or books. It is a work of art and fiction. Fiction should not be taken seriously. Films cannot change society. Government has to implement laws. Films are meant for entertainment primarily.”
