We all know that Sanjay Leela Bhansali is fond of Priyanka Chopra. She has been a part of SLB’s films in one way or the other, be it the “Ram Chahe Leela ‘ of like ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela – Ram Leela’, or the title role in ‘Mary Kom’ (SLB’s production venture), or even the much acclaimed role of Kashi Bai in ‘Bajirao Mastani’. She has nailed them all to perfection, with her poise and versatility. The actress, who is currently busy with her American TV series ‘Quantico’, has recently expressed that she is keen on working with SLB again. If the reports are to be believed, PeeCee wants her next Hindi film to be with her ‘Bajirao Mastani’ director.
A source in a leading daily has quoted, “When Priyanka recently came to India to wrap up her domestic commitments, she met a few filmmakers, including Bhansali, for script narration sessions. It looks like Bhansali’s story has stayed with her. She wants to work with him as soon as the ‘Quantico’ shoot wraps up. However, it may take time since he is about to begin work on another project titled ‘Padmavati’.”
It was said that the actress was being considered for ‘Padmavati’ too, but Deepika Padukone eventually bagged the role.
While the ‘Jai Gangaajal’ actress was unavailable for the comment, a source close to the actress confirmed that she is in talks with SLB for a project. The source said, “Priyanka has been quite open about her willingness to work with Bhansali. She has not signed any Hindi film as of now, and wants to take up a Bhansali film as her next. They share a great rapport. Once she completes commitments in the West, she will focus on her assignments in India and make an announcement as soon as things are finalised.”
After her astounding performances last year, we are eagerly waiting for Piggy Chops to come back and do a Bollywood movie soon!
