Priyanka Chopra is all geared up for her next ‘The Sky Is Pink’ and she says that she felt healed from her dad’s loss through the process of filming this movie. The movie revolves around death and loss. She said that she missed her late father Dr Ashok Chopra throughout the filming.
Priyanka Chopra lost her father in 2013. In an interview with ZoomTv she spoke about her father’s loss. She said, “I still held on to a lot of negative feelings. I was angry, hurt and I felt abandoned. When I was filming I was getting married at that time and I missed my dad so much and missed his presence so much, knowing that my mom would be doing this alone. When this was all my dad would talk about, he would say, ‘suit kab silvaun’. This film gave me closure.”

Priyanka Chopra will also be producing ‘The Sky Is Pink’ and she said that the whole experience of filming the movie was very healing in regards to dealing with her dad’s loss. She said through the making of this movie. It was a very cathartic experience for her. The thing that’s changed is she feels like its healed a part of her that was wounded after she lost her father.

‘The Sky Is Pink’ is based on the lives of Aditi and Niren Chaudhary and their struggles on how they deal with life when their daughter Aisha Chaudhary was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis. Priyanka said that this film has taught her about loss and death. “Instead of mourning the vault of the person you have lost, you celebrate the life that was lived, and that changed me,” she said.
Apart from Priyanka Chopra, ‘The Sky Is Pink’ also stars Farhan Akhtar, Rohit Saraf and Zaira Wasim in pivotal roles. The movie is helmed by Shonali Bose and will hit theatres on October 11.
