Priyanka Chopra’s mother Madhu Chopra was apprehensive of her wedding with Nick Jonas, here’s why

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas got hitched in a couple of dreamy wedding ceremonies in 2018. The couple had an adorable love story and they were sure about each other quite quickly. And while both sides of the families loved the union, Priyanka’s mother Madhu Chopra had an apprehension about it.

Both Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas come from different countries, culture and ethnicities. However, none of those differences bothered Madhu. Nick being white was never of concern to her. In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Madhu revealed, “These things are very normal in our family at least. So I was not worried about white or black, I never had a color issue.”

But the real issue that she had was just so emotional and adorable. She was worried about the geographical distance that was going to come between her and her daughter. Madhu shared, “I just kept feeling that she was going very far away from me. I had a bit of apprehension that she’ll be so far away but then I also felt that it is okay, we can always reach each other in fifteen hours.”

The doting mother also revealed that she instantly liked Nick. She informed about the discussion she had with Nick alone to gauge if he was the right person for PC. Madhu shared, ” I had a nice long discussion with Nick alone to know how he is as a person. After that, I realized that he was just the right person for my daughter. He was what I wanted for Priyanka.”

It’s been about 5 years since Priyanka Chopra and Nick got married and now they even have a daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas. The three of them make for a perfect family. Even the couple doesn’t shy away from expressing their love in public, and indulge in some social media PDA. Truly, Priyanka and Nick belong with each other.
