Priyanka Chopra reveals why she didn’t take it seriously when Nick Jonas had started texting her

Priyanka Chopra had taken everyone by surprise when she appeared with Nick Jonas at her first-ever Met Gala appearance. Their fans had an immediate reaction to seeing them together as they speculated something was brewing up and so it happened. Priyanka has revealed in earlier interviews that she and Nick began texting back and forth before going down the dating road. And in a recent interview with Oprah Winfrey, Priyanka said that she did not take Nick seriously when they were texting.

Priyanka said that Nick was in his 20s and she was 35 as well as at a point where she wanted to be married and have kids. But Nick left her shocked as he was quite driven and clear with what he wanted in his life. Priyanka also gave credit to her mother Madhu Chopra who she believes manifested Nick into her life.

During their recent interview for OWN, Oprah asked Priyanka how she believes that her mother manifested Nick into her life, and the actress replied, “I may have judged the book by the cover, I didn’t honestly take it seriously when Nick was texting me, you know, I was 35, I was like I want to get married, I want to have kids, and he is, you know in his 20s, and I don’t know if that’s something he’d want to do, like I did that to myself for a while, till I actually went out with him and nothing surprised me more than him. He is such a self-assured man, so sensible, so excited about my achievements, my dreams, such a true partnership that he offers me in everything that we do together.”

Priyanka further added that she was looking to have a marriage just like her parents and she found that with Nick. “I truly believe that my mom manifested him because that was her marriage, she had a marriage of partnership, they worked together, they lived together, they built (their) home together, they built their life together in equal partnership and I saw that while growing up. And, I am just amazed that I found exactly what I kind of grew up with, with Nick, I just kind of swept, I’d let it happen, ” said the actress.
