Earlier this year, Priyanka Chopra’s meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Berlin received a lot of flak on Twitter as she was wearing a short knee-length dress and sat cross-legged while chatting with the PM. She was targeted by the Twitterati who trolled her endlessly for exposing her legs. She gave it back to them indirectly with another post which had her wearing an even shorter dress along with her mother, Dr Madhu Chopra. She captioned the picture as, “Legs for days”. She remained silent all this while and now finally, she has opened up on it and her answer is amazing.
Speaking with a leading television channel, the actress said, “I don’t know why you guys give trolling so much importance but for me trolling is not news, it never has been. Trolling is just someone’s opinion and who cares about that?” (Also Read: From Ganpati darshan to chilling at Marine Drive, Priyanka is enjoying like a true Mumbaiite)
Earlier, her mother Mrs Chopra had stood up for the actress by saying, “Her neckline was right up to her jaw, her hands were covered. They met in the lobby before she was to go for a ‘Baywatch’ promotional event. She couldn’t have pleaded with the PM to give her two minutes so that she could wear a saree. All I taught her if you have done no wrong, you have nothing to fear. She was going for ‘Baywatch’ promotion, suddenly she bumped into Mr Modi, she cannot go for a dress change and come back to say hello? The meeting was not pre-planned, it was impromptu.”
Well recently too, the actress received brickbats for wearing a tricolour dupatta, on Independence Day. Anyways, the classy reply by the actress only proves her wit. On the work front, she has two Hollywood movies, ‘Isn’t It Romantic?’ and ‘A Kid Like Jake’.
Passionate about writing, and a Bollywood lover, she is all that is sweet and endearing! She desires to put her best foot forward in everything that she does and loves to help anyone who’s in need.
