Priyanka Chopra on Thursday shared some advice on how to make a sincere apology correctly. Her post comes after the apology she received from comedian Rosie O’Donnells, earlier this week. The actress took to her Instagram stories and offered advice. For the unversed, O’Donnell had shared a few videos on TikTok after having an ‘awkward’ encounter with Priyanka and her husband, Nick Jonas, as she described. Later, Rosie had reposted the videos on her Instagram as well. In no time, the videos went viral. Rosie O’Donnel had assumed that Priyanka was the daughter of author and alternative medicine advocate Deepak Chopra. However, she apologized was informed about the gaffe.
Taking to her Instagram story, Priyanka wrote a note, without naming O’Donnell. She wrote, “Hi everyone. Some thoughts. I have never taken myself so seriously to think everyone would know who I am, or my work for that matter. But if you wanted to make a public apology for a very awkward private encounter, I think probably best to take the time to google my name before doing it or even try to reach out directly.”
The Matrix 4 actress further continued, “We ALL deserve to be respected for our unique individuality and not be referred to as ‘someone’ or ‘wife’ especially in a sincere apology. If we can learn to respect our differences in an authentic way, the world we raise our children in. will be amazing.”
Priyanka Chopra was not done here. She went on and added a postscript to the note. The actress wrote, “Also PS – As I’ve said before, not all Chopras are related to the great Deepak, just as not all Smith’s are related to the legendary Will Smith.”
Earlier, Rosie O’Donnell had shared a video of her after her awkward encounter with Nick and Priyanka in Malibu. She shared the first and mentioned details about her conversation. Recalling the incident, she shared the first video on TikTok and wrote, “I felt so embarrassed. Didn’t you think Nick Jonas was married to Deepak Chopra’s daughter? Am I the only one who thought that?” She then added, “To Nick Jonas, I apologise. And to the Chopra wife, I apologise too.” Fans then went on to point out how she addressed Priyanka as ‘the Chopra wife’.

After noticing the comments from everyone who wondered Priyanka was rude to her, Rosie shared a second video. She said, “So I’m reading the comments, and people thought she was rude, she wasn’t rude, it was just awkward. I’m sure she gets sick of that. Priyanka is her name. She’s apparently a very well known actress and more famous than [Jonas].”
