Few days back, a cover of leading magazine, featuring Priyanka Chopra, went viral for all the wrong reasons. On the cover, Priyanka was seen wearing a t-shirt that had the words, REFUGEE, IMMIGRANT, OUTSIDER, and TRAVELLER written in bold, with the first three slashed with a red line. Given that the refugee crisis in today’s world is a grave concern, PeeCee was bashed left, right, and centre, for being insensitive. Also, the fact that Priyanka is one of the ambassadors for UNICEF, led to her being criticised for being crass about what she was wearing on the cover.
Now, Priyanka has openly apologised for the same. Recently, while speaking to a leading news channel, she said, “They specially got this (t-shirt) made and implored me to wear it. They said they were addressing xenophobia which is a big issue that is happening.”
“So their idea was that. And I bought into it, I guess. And I am really, really apologetic about the fact that sentiments were hurt … The point the magazine wanted to make was actually something good,” she further added.

Well, now that she has explained her point, we guess the criticism would die down.
