Priyanka Chopra reveals why Nick Jonas skipped The Matrix Resurrections premiere

On Saturday, Priyanka Chopra attended the grand premiere of the American science fiction action film, ‘The Matrix Resurrections’ in California, United States. For the event, PeeCee stunned in a gorgeous shimmery thigh-high slit gown. She was also joined Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jada Pinkett Smith, Neil Patrick Harris, and others on the red carpet.

However, Priyanka’s husband and singer Nick Jonas skipped the grand premiere. Now, in an interview with Chris Gardner of The Hollywood Reporter, the ‘Bajirao Mastani’ actress spilled the beans on his absence. “He couldn’t make it tonight. Somebody in his tour tested positive, so he wanted to be careful coming in.”

Further, Priyanka Chopra revealed how Nick Jonas reacted after watching her film, The Matrix Resurrections. “He loves it and he’s a fan of The Matrix anyway,” she said.

Meanwhile, the actress in a new Instagram post also shared a glimpse of her “crew” who accompanied her for the big day and it included not only her team but also her family including mom Madhu Chopra and her in-laws, Denise Jonas and Kevin Jonas Sr. She captioned it as: “Crew!! ❤️ I’m so thankful for my family. Thank you all for being a part of this amazing moment with me. My team without who I would never be able to do any of it. Grateful. Missed u @nickjonas ❤️ Happy birthday @divya_jyoti ??”

The Matrix Resurrections is one of the highly-anticipated movies of the year. Directed by Lana Wachowski. It is set to release in theatres and on HBO Max on December 22.

On the work front, Chopra will next lead the romantic drama Text for You. She will next star alongside Richard Madden in Amazon Prime Video’s thriller series Citadel, and in Barry Levinson’s Sheela. She is also set to appear in the film Cowboy Ninja Viking. PeeCee is also set to star in the Bollywood film, Jee Le Zaraa alongside Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt
