Bollywood actors have been coming out with their take on the ban on Pakistani artistes in India, after the unfortunate URI attacks. While everyone has a different opinion, there are some, who have decided to keep mum on the matter. One of these actors was Priyanka Chopra, who has finally spoken about the issue, on a public platform.
In a recent interview, the global star was asked about the the current political scenario and her take on the ban on Pakistani actors in India. And what she said was something that everyone needs to imply upon. “First of all, artistes and actors are held responsible for every big political agenda that happens in the country. Why are only we reflecting it? Why not businesses? Why not doctors? Why not anyone else, apart from actors. Second of all, I am extremely patriotic and whatever the Government decides to keep the country safe, I go with that. But, at the same time, I don’t believe that actors are responsible of harming anybody’s life. So that to me is not fair,” Priyanka said.
Further talking about how the people of the country should come together to protect India, she says, “But again, we have been an extremely peaceful nation, and we need to stand up to protect our country. We are all about Gandhi, from a land of non-violence. We have people with so many different opinions, religions and upbringing, that it is a difficult country to govern. But yet we manage so well.”
“I have heard a quote somewhere that “an artistes’ religion is nothing but work”, thus you cannot hold an artiste responsible for his religion,” PeeCee concludes.
Don’t you feel that she just nailed it? Absolutely to-the-point.
