Priyanka Chopra’s mother stands up in support of her daughter’s dress for the meeting with PM

Do you remember the time when Priyanka Chopra was mercilessly trolled for wearing a short dress while meeting the PM of India, Narendra Modi, in Berlin? Well, even if you don’t we would like to rewind it a bit for you. So, the actress met the PM in Berlin and it wasn’t a planned meeting, but nonetheless a pleasant one for both of them as Priyanka shared the picture on her social media page and captioned it as, “Was such a lovely coincidence to be in #berlin?? at the same time as the Prime Minister. Thank you Narendra Modi Sir for taking the time from your packed schedule to meet me this morning. ??”

Later, she got trolled for wearing a dress which showed her legs and she gave it back silently with another post on her page wherein she was wearing an even more shorter dress along with her mother, Dr Madhu Chopra who was also wearing a short dress. Now, her mother has stood up for her daughter and addressed the issue at length. Speaking to Pinkvilla, she said, “Her neckline was right up to her jaw, her hands were covered. They met in the lobby before she was to go for a ‘Baywatch’ promotional event. She couldn’t have pleaded with the PM to give her two minutes so that she could wear a saree. He and his team had no problem. In fact, we got an official communication from the protocol officer later that the PM had no issue with it. But the trolls on social media diluted the whole intent of the meeting.”

Now this presents a clear picture and we are glad she addressed this matter.
