Are you listening, Priyanka Chopra? Mithali Raj wants you to portray her onscreen

Where our Men In Blue have a crazy fan following and people want to know every detail about them, it’s just about time we know about our Women in Blue too. We are referring to our Indian cricket teams. People know a lot about our men’s team but not much is known about the women’s team. Viacom 18 has finally decided to make a film on the captain of the Indian women’s cricket team, Mithali Raj. Though they haven’t finalised the casting, the captain has a name on her mind and it’s none other than Priyanka Chopra.

In an interview with Mid Day, Mithali said, “I think Priyanka Chopra will be a great choice (to play me in the biopic). Our personalities match a lot,” she reasons. But the sportswoman says she will leave it to the makers to decide whom to cast. “I am not a movie buff, so I’d love the experts to do their job,” she shares.

“I have helped the team with the research, which has now been completed. The film is currently in the scripting stage. Once that’s done, I will have a look at it to see if there is anything I would want to add,” Mithali added. She also said that the unit will start rolling only next year.

It will be good to know more about our Indian captain and her journey in which she has broken and set new records.
