Priyanka Chopra to play Ranveer Singh’s wife in ‘Bajirao Mastani’

Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus historical romance ‘Bajirao Mastani’ is all set to roll. It has Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone playing the stellar role of ‘Bajirao Mastani’ . Priyanka Chopra will also be seen, playing the role crucial role of Ranveer’s wife in it. ‘Bajirao Mastani’ is based on great Maratha emperor Peshwa Bajirao and his second wife Mastani. Deepika will play Mastani and Priyanka will play Ranveer’s first wife Kashibai.

As per sources, Ranveer Singh who will be playing the role of Peshwa Bajira will learn Marathi to lend authenticity to the character. He said, “Preparations for ‘Bajirao Mastani’ is very intense. I will have to learn Marathi, horse riding, pick up the accent and do a lot of work for the character. I will have to shave off my hair, work on my look and the physical aspect.”

Priyanka Chopra’s role as Kashibai wife of the Peshwa, is a performance based role. She will be playing the role of a troubled wife of Bajirao. The role will require a lot of dedication and hard work. As Bhansali is known to be hard taskmaster. But we think that it will be a cake walk for PeeCee. As she is known to pull any tough role with ease.
