Today, the whole world is talking about Indian Air Force’s Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman. Our entire nation is waiting for a safe return of the courageous commander. Meanwhile, Bollywood producers are trying their best to secure titles for the films based on him and the air strikes carried out by IAF.
According to a report published in Huffington Post, as soon as India launched air strikes on Pakistan, the representatives of at least 5 production houses reached the offices of the Indian Motion Pictures’ Producers’ Association (IMMPA) to secure titles for the films they might plan to make in future. The report also claimed that their titles revolved around keywords such as Balakot, Surgical Strikes 2.0 and Pulwama Attacks.
The report also stated that the fight to grab the best titles had begun on February 14 itself, the day when the Pulwama terror attack took place in Jammu and Kashmir. Some of the confirmed titles include ‘Pulwama: The Surgical Strike’, ‘War Room’, ‘Hindustan Hamara Hai’, ‘Pulwama Terror Attack’, ‘The Attacks of Pulwama’, ‘With Love, From India’, and ‘ATS – One Man Show’. Productions houses like Abundantia and T-Series are among the studios that have sent applications for these titles.
It is very clear that the success of ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ has prompted filmmakers to reserve patriotic titles. The film directed by Aditya Dhar is based on the September 2016 Surgical Strikes conducted by the Indian Army against the terror launch pads in Pakistan across the LoC. The Vicky Kaushal starrer has so far earned over Rs. 235 crore at the box-office.
