Punjab and Haryana High Court stayed the release of  ‘Grand Masti’, scheduled for release on September 13, in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh on the grounds of vulgar dialogues and obscene content besides scenes that degrade women.
As per sources, the High Court had directed the Central Board Of Film Certification, Union Ministry Of Information And Broadcasting and Maruti International Films Private Limited, Mumbai, to file their replies on the allegations made in the petition by September 20.
As per sources, the petitioner has asked the CBFC to reconsider the decision of granting certificate of exhibiting the movie and put a stay order on it. And also that the CBFC should not certify films that contain such content that affects sensuality and encourage incidents of crime against women.
