The #MeToo movement is gaining momentum day by day and every day new names from the entertainment industry are surfacing on the internet. All thanks to Tanushree Dutta who has started the moment in India. Sexual assault cases from the past are coming out and many bigwigs are named and shamed in this row. From Rajat Kapoor, Alok Nath, Sajid Khan to Kailash Kher and Anu Malik among others, many are accused of sexual misconduct.
As per a report by Times of India, the makers of Iulia Vantur starrer ‘Radha Kyun Gori Main Kyun Kaala’ have sacked casting director Vicky Sidana. A few days ago Vicky was accused of a rape attempt by actress Kritika Sharma. This incident happened in the year 2013 and the actress has even filed an official complaint against him with the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of Maharashtra.
On Wednesday, Studio 5 Elements, the production house of the upcoming movie issued a statement, saying that they have disassociated with Vicky till the investigations go on. Supporting the ongoing #MeToo movement, the production house said that they won’t work further with any sexual offenders.
The statement read as, “Studio 5 Elements is committed to creating a safe, healthy and peaceful working environment for women. We strongly believe that anyone found guilty of misconduct should be punished. As a production house, we stand by the #MeToo movement and have decided not to work with any proven offenders. Our association with Vicky Sidana will remain held in abeyance until a thorough investigation.”
