Actress Radhika Apte is married to London based musician, Benedict Taylor. Due to their profession, both are into a long-distance relationship. While the ‘Parched’ actress stays in Mumbai, her husband resides in London. Despite their hectic schedule, both make sure to meet each other every month. In an interview with Cosmopolitan India, Radhika spoke at length about how she maintains the long-distance marriage.
Radhika said that being in a long-distance relationship for so long, it’s hard. “Loneliness has nothing to do with LDR. People can live together in the same house for years and still be lonely. When you want to be with each other, when you come home and want the other person to be there, and that doesn’t happen, it’s difficult. But you get used to it,” said Radhika.
While talking about resolving the fights and conflicts between them, the actress said that both she and her husband deal with it maturely. She said, “Well, every relationship, be it an LDR or a GCR, goes through ups and downs. Everyone has disagreements and fights. It’s the same for us. Our golden rule is that we never hang up on each other. I think it’s a very rude and insulting thing to do. When we’ve had a fight, we just end up saying, ‘I don’t wanna talk to you right now’, or ‘Bye, we’ll speak later’. And within minutes, you’ll catch both of us trying to call each other simultaneously. It doesn’t even matter whose fault it was, we both apologise. Not speaking for long periods of time because of disagreement can aggravate the situation. We always let go of the fights, and forget about what had happened.”
Well, every couple should take a cue from Radhika and Benedict.
